   My wife and I used the Garmin GPS on a trip in The Netherlands, Belgium and Northern France this past August. Did quite a bit of driving, in both big cities and the countryside. The GPS performed flawlessly – hard to conceive how we could have managed without it. It did, on rare occasions, take us from point A to point B by somewhat strange routes, but this happened rarely, and we always got to where we wanted to go. The only problem with the unit is that it’s pronunciation of French / Belgian / Dutch place names with very, very British, and generally very different from what it should have been. We did learn to compensate, to interpret what the unit was telling us, and even to enjoy the challenging of matching its pronunciation (a female voice, BTW) with signs.
   To sum up – a great unit. We feel the money spent on it was well worth it, and we hope to have another opportunity to test it out in Europe! HB
